Aspen City Council has appointed Sara Ott as its Interim City Manager while council members work with the City's Human Resources team to select a recruitment firm to execute a national search for Aspen's next City Manager.  Sara Ott's appointment comes after the resignation of City Manager Steve Barwick.  Later in January, City Council will finalize both the separation agreement with Barwick and the employment agreement with Ott.  Barwick is expected to remain with the City through early March.  The expectation is that the search for a permanent City Manager will take several months.
