Annual Spring Clean-Up Cancelled Due to COVID-19

Aspen, CO – April 30, 2020 – The City of Aspen will not be holding its annual spring clean-up this year due to COVID-19.  Traditionally our Street Department schedules pick-ups at people’s homes and brings discarded and recycled materials to the landfill.  Because this work requires crews to work closely together, it would not adhere to the six-foot social distance law.  We look forward to bringing the event back next year.  If you are in need of the Pitkin County Landfill, it is open to the public with limited services.  You can recycle glass, cardboard, paper, and plastic there, and drop-off compost.  Check the website for more details at

The Aspen E-waste collection event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 20 at the Marolt Housing parking lot but is dependent on public health orders.  More at at Environmental Health and Sustainability department.
