Lake Christine Wildfire, Aspen Power Outage, and Update Information

The City of Aspen may experience a power outage of approximately 72-hours due to the Lake Christine Wildfire in Basalt.  Depending on wind direction, the flames may reach the transformers that supply power to the upper Roaring Fork Valley including Aspen.  Please be prepared for the possibility of living without power for several days.  If the power goes out, please stay up-to-date with information, including potential emergency shelters for those needing power for medical reasons.  To stay informed of wildfire related news: sign up for Pitkin Alert and follow Eagle County Sheriff's Office and follow City of Aspen on Facebook and Aspen Police on Facebook.
